Google highlights Microsoft's security failures
Google releases white paper on Microsoft's security lapses to US government. Offers discounts to government agencies and corporate customers to switch to Google Workspace due to cybersecurity failures. Reportedly seen by Bloomberg, Google suggests a safer alternative to Microsoft Office. Alphabet-owned company offers discounts and incident response services from Mandiant security business.The company has also reportedly offered discounts to government agencies who are willing to switch to the company’s collaborative suite. Google wants to use this white paper to lure corporate and government customers to use its productivity software rather than Microsoft Office which it claims to be unsafe.
In the white paper (seen by Bloomberg), Google said: “The repeated security challenges with Microsoft called for a better alternative for enterprises and public-sector organisations alike. We believe Google Workspace presents a safer alternative, with a proven track record of engineering excellence, deep investment in cutting edge defences, and a transparent culture where providing security for customers is treated as a profound responsibility.”

As per the report, the Alphabet-owned company is also offering 18 months free to corporate customers who sign a three-year contract. The company is also likely to offer a hefty discount after that along with its incident response services from Google’s Mandiant security business. All customers will also receive free consulting services to help them make the switch.
